It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and the holidays just wouldn’t be complete without the annual Mocksville Hometown Christmas Parade sponsored by the Mocksville Tourism Authority.  This year’s parade theme is “The Magic of Christmas.”

The parade will feature everything from walking groups, performers, horseback riders, and single vehicles to full-blown floats, candy for the kids, and of course, Santa Claus. The parade will depart from Rich Park at 2 p.m. Saturday and will travel down Main Street, turn left on Depot Street, and end at Railroad Street, where dismantling will begin. Prizes will be awarded to the best parade participants. First place wins $75; second place will receive $50; and third place earns $25.

Road Closures

Limited through traffic will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the parade route streets (Main, Depot, Park, Poplar, etc) will be closed to ALL traffic by 1:15 p.m. so that the parade may start on time at 2:00 p.m. SHARP.

Participants may arrive at the designated location as early as 1:00 p.m. but should plan to arrive no later than 1:30 p.m.

Parents dropping off kids in Rich Park will be directed to park at Mocksville Elementary School and walk their children to their float location in Rich Park.

Find Your Parade Seat Early and Do a Little Christmas Shopping on Saturday!

Downtown merchants will be open, and they would love to help you find the perfect gift for that special someone ( or a little something special for yourself.)
