Main Street America ™ has been helping revitalize older and historic commercial districts for more than 40 years. As a Main Street America Affiliate™, Mocksville is part of a national network of more than 1,600 neighborhoods and communities that share a commitment to creating high-quality places and building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America ™ accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by Main Street America.

Since joining the program in 1991, we’ve been working to revitalize and improve the viability and appearance of the downtown business district, while also promoting the entire community to attract locals and visitors alike.
As an integral part of the innovative Piedmont Triad area, Mocksville offers small-town charm with easy access to big-city living. Your company will find a welcoming hometown atmosphere to grow not only your business but your family, too. In 2024, Main Street America programs generated $7.65 billion in local reinvestment, helped open 6,324 new businesses, facilitated the creation of 33,835 new jobs, rehabilitated 10,126 historic buildings, and logged 1.9 million volunteer hours. On average, for every dollar that a Main Street program spent to support their operations, $21.73 was reinvested into their downtown and commercial corridor communities.
Since 1980, the Main Street Movement has resulted in $115.42 billion reinvested locally, 181,647 net new businesses, 815,895 net new jobs, 345,801buildings rehabilitated, and 37.3 million volunteer hours. Main Street America is a program of the nonprofit National Main Street Center, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Mocksville is a North Carolina Main Street community designated by the N.C. Department of Commerce Main Street & Rural Planning Center. Mocksville Main Street is charged with administering the program at the local level and building public-private partnerships to spur economic development that achieves measurable results such as investment, business growth, and job creation.
