It’s 4:30 a.m. on a Friday morning. While most residents are still sleeping, Mocksville’s Public Works Department is already checking manholes to make sure water and sewer lines are flowing properly before the weekend.  Their goal is to complete the work while usage is low and traffic is light and to be off the roads and out of residents’ way by daylight, explained Director Brian Moore. The Town of Mocksville is cleaning out and offering surplus items by electronic auction at www.GovDeals.com/mocksvillenc. GovDeals' online marketplace provides services to government, educational, and related entities for the sale of surplus assets to the public. “The Town uses GovDeals to dispose of surplus property because this format allows anyone to bid on items from their own home and this tends to bring in more money as a result.
