Second Saturday in October
Your family can enjoy a full day of free fun during Mocksville’s annual Oaks Festival (formerly the Autumn Equinox Festival). The festival is held in historic downtown Mocksville on the second Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is something for everyone: handcrafted goods, art, and food vendors, lots of free kids’ activities, and live concerts all day.
Crafts, food, and the kids’ area are set up along Main Street and run down Depot Street leading to the entertainment area and outdoor stage.
Crafts, Christmas Specialties, and Unique Items for Sale
Start your Christmas shopping early, or buy a little something special for yourself as you enjoy the crafts, Christmas specialties, and other original items for sale. Find that “one-of-a-kind” piece of pottery, stained-glass, or unique item made from reclaimed wood or jumpstart your fall decorating with pumpkins, flowers, and handcrafted wreaths and decorations.
Inflatables, Magic Show, and Pumpkin Decorating for the Kids
It’s different every year, but there are always lots of fun kids’ activities. In past years there have been balloon art, bouncy inflatables, and other free activities like crafts, music, and a magic show.
Fun Fair-Style Food
Food vendors offer tasty treats like hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, cheesesteaks, and Polish sausages. Make sure to save room for dessert! Grab a funnel cake, pretzel, or popcorn and some ice-cold lemonade.
Bring Your Lawn Chair and Enjoy Free Concerts – Live Music All Day!
The music starts around noon and continues on into the evening. From rock to country, to beach to Motown, the concerts offer a little of everything.

Water, wine, and alcohol will be available for sale near the entertainment area and food vendors will be at the top of the hill on Depot Street.

Visit with some of our friendly shop owners and shop at the local stores along Main Street. Dine-in at one of our delightful eateries, including the Factory Coffeehouse on the Square (hand-crafted coffee drinks, smoothies, and sodas), Restaurant 101 (delicious sandwiches and entrées), O’Callahan’s (Irish eatery & pub), You can grab dessert at Quail Ridge Confections or Scoops Ice Cream Shop. Mocksville has so much great dining within easy walking distance!
