Main Street Half Marathon!
The Main Street Half Marathon of Mocksville will be taking place on November 9th, 2019 in historic downtown Mocksville. The event is designed to “bring it back home” — to race local & shop local, to celebrate the Main Streets of USA that have made our country great, as well as the people of the communities that inhabit them, all while raising funds to combat the Opioid Crisis in our county.
In order to pull off this event, we will need roughly 75-100 volunteers for a WIDE variety of roles leading up to and on race day itself. And for a little added fun, enter our “LOUDMOUTH COMPETITION” — if you have a group of at least 5 volunteers, you are eligible to sign up to be one of our “Loudmouth Zones”. Your group will be set up along the course at water stops & pivotal sections, with the goal of being the LOUDEST (and most creative, decorated, the possibilities are endless!) of them all! Race participants will vote on their favorite “Loudmouth Zone” along the course, and you will have the chance to win a cash prize to be donated to a charity of your choice!

WHEN: Saturday, November 9, 2019. Half Marathon Race Start will be 8a, Walkers and push-rim / adaptive athletes will begin at 7:30a. Start will be corraled and athletes will be released in waves based on estimated finish time. All athletes must complete the event by 12pm.
WHERE: Main Street, Mocksville, NC 27028. Start and finish line will be near the Davie County Courthouse. Pre-Race packet pickup, festitivies and street fair will take place on Main Street on Friday 11/8/19 from 4-7pm.
WHY: because small towns and the Main Streets that support them are the heart of America, and because taking care of the heart is key to a healthy body. Proceeds from the 2019 MSHM of Mocksville will benefit local substance abuse prevention and recovery efforts.

OTHER DETAILS: This will be unlike any half marathon you’ve done before. Equal parts challenge, community and celebration…with a pre-race outdoor festival and street fair, a “Superhero Sprint” kids race down Main Street, entertainment, family and friends along the way, and a finish line party that rivals a rock show (complete with a few local “refreshments”)…we’re confident that when you finish you’ll feel it was “Time Well Spent” and some you won’t soon forget!
