A graphic says, "Tree of Honor. Thank you veterans and service members for your service to our country," with a silhouette of soldiers, and shows three small American flags by a lit Christmas tree at night in Mocksville.

Mocksville came together this Veterans Day to honor the brave men and women who have served—and continue to serve—our nation. In a heartfelt display of gratitude, the Town dedicated a Tree of Honor in Main Street Park, a luminous symbol of remembrance and respect for America’s heroes.

A Meaningful Tribute on a Sacred Day

On November 11 at 11:11 a.m., community members gathered for a special lighting ceremony to unveil this year’s Tribute Tree. The significance of the date and time echoed the moment the armistice was signed to end World War I—an annual reminder of peace, sacrifice, and the cost of freedom.

Each light on the Tree of Honor represented a service member who has touched the lives of family, friends, and neighbors here in Davie County and beyond. The ceremony served not only as a gesture of gratitude but also as a poignant reminder of the courage and commitment of those who defend our freedoms.

A Season-Long Reminder of Courage and Sacrifice

Now illuminated, the Tree of Honor will remain aglow throughout the holiday season, offering a quiet place for reflection amid the bustle of everyday life. Whether passersby stop intentionally or simply admire it in passing, its shining lights serve as a collective pledge: we will never forget their service.

This annual tradition encourages residents and visitors alike to acknowledge the sacrifices made by veterans—from those who served in historic conflicts to those still standing guard today.

A Community United in Gratitude

A tribute to honor and or remember those who serve and have served to protect our freedom is located on N. Main Street beside Main Street Park. The Town of Mocksville is proud to donate your 2025 contributions totaling $510.84 to the local Veterans Services Office.

We are proud to continue this meaningful tradition and to honor the individuals whose bravery, selflessness, and dedication define the American spirit. May the glow of the Tree of Honor remind us throughout the season of the heroes who inspire us every day.
