After nearly 35 years of distinguished public service, Mocksville Town Manager Ken Gamble has announced plans to retire at the end of 2024. In a heartfelt statement, Gamble reflected on the honor and privilege of working alongside talented and dedicated individuals from various sectors, including government, business, non-profit, civic, faith, and community organizations. These collaborations, with a shared commitment to improving safety, outcomes, and the quality of life in both urban and rural communities, have defined his career.

“My experiences serving in law enforcement and town management have made for an extremely rewarding career,” he said.

He expressed deep gratitude to the Mocksville Board of Commissioners for their support over the past 3 ½ years. “I want to thank the Board of Commissioners for their confidence and support during my time in Mocksville. I also want to recognize our department heads and staff for their hard work, dedication, and passion for our town. We are where we are as a community because of their contributions. Our community is incredibly fortunate to have this Board of Commissioners and a team of Town employees diligently improving our quality of life, safety, facilities, programs, and infrastructure.”

In closing, Gamble offered a personal note of appreciation to the Mocksville community. “Finally, I want to thank the community for welcoming me and my family back in 2021 and treating us like we grew up here. That was a priceless gift that I will never be able to repay.”

Mocksville Mayor Will Marklin expressed his appreciation for Gamble’s many contributions to the success of the Town. “Ken has done an excellent job during his time here in Mocksville. He was hired during a time of transition with our Mocksville Police Department guiding us through the much-needed change in law enforcement. Ken has developed town employees at all levels and will leave our town in much better shape than it was when he arrived. We are sad to see him retire but are grateful for the time he spent in Mocksville.”
