The Town of Mocksville seeks to enhance connectivity and walkability in the downtown area, and we want  YOU to be a part of it. As we prioritize upcoming sidewalk projects, your input will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our community.

During the Town’s annual budget retreat, the Board of Commissioners committed to launching a new sidewalk project to increase connectivity and accessibility across our town center. With funding secured from the general fund, this initiative marks a significant step towards fulfilling the objectives outlined in our 2019 Comprehensive Plan, which envisions Mocksville as a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly destination for residents and visitors alike.

The project will focus on four key segments, each designed to improve the seamless flow and accessibility of our downtown area:

  1. From the roundabout down Wilkesboro Street to Meroney Street
  2. From Valley Road down Wilkesboro Street through the roundabout to the Senior Center
  3. From the roundabout up Yadkinville Road to Walgreens
  4. From Main Street down Milling Road to the Northridge Apartments

“Your opinion matters! We encourage all Mocksville residents, businesses, and stakeholders to participate in ranking these segments according to your preferences. Your feedback will guide us in prioritizing which areas to develop first, ensuring that our efforts align closely with the community’s needs and desires,” said Town Manager Ken Gamble.

Whether you’re a daily walker, a weekend runner, or simply passionate about our town’s future connectivity, your input is crucial to shaping Mocksville’s landscape for future generations.
