Safety is the Goal

It is the goal of the Town of Mocksville to keep its citizens informed and safe. We are doing our best to keep everyone up-to-date with local, state, and federal information in reference to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Order Takeout – Restaurant Updates

Earlier today, Governor Roy Cooper issued an executive order in response to COVID-19 that closes restaurants and bars for dine-in customers but allows them to continue takeout and delivery orders. This order will be effective as of 5 p.m .today.

Local Mocksville restaurants such as Alex’s Grill, Cariciati’s, CJ’s BBQ, O’Callahans, Restaurant 101, 601 Brews and Burgers, Shiki Japanese Grill, El Taco Shop, Deano’s BBQ, Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, Marcos Pizza, Village Inn Pizza, Factory Coffeehouse and many others will remain open for pick-up and/or delivery.

Please consider these businesses and their employees when you are planning your meals. We encourage you to continue to give your business to our local establishments.

Local Store Operation and Hours

Also locally, for the time being, Walmart will be operating from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. and both Dollar General stores from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Our local Dollar General stores have advised that priority shopping has been established for our senior citizens.

Health and Safety Measures

In an effort to maintain personal health The Center for Disease Control has provided the following basic safety measures as we battle the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

  • Maintain social distancing
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • Practice respiratory hygiene
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
  • Wash your hands
  • Reduce contact with crowds and/or gatherings

For continuing daily public health information you can locate the Center for Disease Control online at cdc.gov

Mocksville Police Update

Mocksville Police Department also released a statement this week that they will be attempting to conduct as much business via phone communication as possible to keep the public safe. If you have questions or concerns Mocksville Police Department officers are standing by to assist you. If you have an emergency the officers are always available to assist; don’t hesitate to reach out. You will also see much more visibility from our officers as they bring a stronger presence in the area of local businesses and neighborhoods to keep our community safe.

Bringing Our Community Together

The Town of Mocksville is striving to bring our community together during these trying times. Our hearts go out to our citizens as we move fluidly day-to-day to keep up with and maintain safety, order, and healthy living. We are a community of family and friends. Let’s remain calm and help one another through this situation until we can go back to our normal routines.

We will continue to release updated information on our website, www.mocksvillenc.org, social media through the Town of Mocksville and the Mocksville Police Department.

Thank you.
