Re: Precautionary Measures for the Coronavirus (COVID-19)
As many of you are aware, the President has declared a National State of Emergency and the Governor has declared a State of Emergency for North Carolina due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Town of Mocksville is working closely with the State and Davie County to provide a comprehensive message for preemptive measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. Included with this notice is a copy of the notice provided by Davie County to all the residents.
Therefore, the Town of Mocksville will employ the same actions announced by Davie County and the Town of Bermuda Run:
Effective immediately and for the next 30 days, all Town of Mocksville public meetings will be postponed or re scheduled to avoid the potential for large gatherings. This includes Board of Commissioner regular meetings, special called meetings and meetings of any other Town Boards or Commissions.
Meetings that are re-scheduled will be posted on the Town’s website and notice will be provided per N.C. General Statutes. Should further measures need to be taken; the Town of Mocksville will work closely with Davie County to implement additional protocols recommended by the State.
The Town of Mocksville encourages residents to visit the Davie County website at www.daviecountync.gov for the most up-to-date information on the Coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition, the Mocksville webpage and social media platforms will provide links and additional information as we move forward.
We realize that you depend on us, and we are committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of our citizens. We feel deeply for those who have been affected already. The Town of Mocksville is here to help in any way possible.
Again, the health and safety of our citizens and employees is our top priority, and we are committed to doing our part to help keep Mocksville safe.
Will Marklin, Mayor
Town of Mocksville
