Hurricane Florence Update


“The Town of Mocksville and Davie County Emergency Management continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Florence. Based on information received from the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center, Davie County should anticipate:

  • Early Thursday morning: rain and the potential arrival of high winds.
  • Friday through Sunday: sustained periods of heavy rain with the potential of 7-10 inches total accumulation with tropical storm force winds.

Residents are encouraged to keep cell phones charged in advance of the storm. In the event that you experience a power outage, please DO NOT call 9-1-1. Outages can be reported to the following:

In the event of widespread power outages or severe flooding, emergency shelters will be established and additional communication will be forthcoming. Please note – a storm emergency phone line (336-753-6169) has been established to assist residents with issues that may arise from this weather scenario.
