Mark your Calendar – Free Family Event ~ Oaks Festival, This Saturday, October 13th, 10 a.m.- 7 p.m!

Enjoy a full day of free fun for the entire family during the annual Oaks Festival, this Saturday, October 13th, from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. in historic downtown Mocksville. Dozens of vendors will feature unique craft and gift items as well as showcase local businesses. There will be food vendors, lots of free kids’ activities, and free live music at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater beginning at 12:30.

Crafts, Christmas Specialties, and Unique Items for Sale
Start your Christmas shopping early, or buy a little something special for yourself as you enjoy the crafts, Christmas specialties, and other original items for sale. Find that “one-of-a-kind” piece of pottery, stained glass, or unique item made from reclaimed wood or jumpstart your fall decorating with pumpkins, flowers, and handcrafted wreaths and decorations.

Inflatables, Balloon Art and More for the Kids
Kids will enjoy the inflatables, as well as crafts like “decorate your own pumpkin” assisted by the Davie County Early College Junior Civitans and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. The ever-popular Michael Decker will be story-telling and creating his fabulous balloon art.

Crafts, food, and the kids’ area will be set up on Main St. and run down Depot St. leading to Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater.

Bring Your Lawn Chair and Enjoy Free Concerts – Live Music All Day!
The music starts at 12:30 and continues until 7:00 p.m. at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Stage, 107 S. Salisbury St. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR AND NO COOLERS, PLEASE.  Water, wine, and alcohol by Morgan Ridge Railwalk & Brewery will be available for sale at Junker’s Mill, and food vendors will be at the top of the hill on Depot Street.

5:15 – 7:00 – Acoustic Syndicate (Modern Blue Grass, Rock, & Americana)

If you have not shopped or dined in downtown Mocksville recently, this would be a great day to stop in and find out what you have been missing. Visit with some of our friendly shop owners and shop at the local stores along Main Street.  Dine at one of our delightful eateries including the Factory Coffeehouse>/u> on the Square (hand-crafted coffee drinks, smoothies, and sodas), Restaurant 101 (delicious sandwiches and entrees), O’Callahan’s (Irish eatery & pub) or Scoops (ice cream).
