Merry Christmas to everyone in Mocksville! It is a hectic time of year but I hope we can all take a moment to reflect on all the blessings we have in our town. Tami Langdon has worked diligently with her team to bring several exciting events to our downtown this Christmas season. Hayrides, ice sculptures and the Piedmont Firefighters Pipe and Drum Corp were all part of a wonderful holiday celebration.
Our vibrant downtown is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. Downtown merchants are committed to making Mocksville a great place to live, work and shop. Shopping locally and eating in our downtown restaurants contributes to the economic health of Mocksville and provides jobs for our residents. Public Works employees and Parks employees work hard to make sure that our downtown is second to none in North Carolina. We maintain streets, sidewalks and landscaping to make sure that everyone’s experience downtown is fun and rewarding. Police officers and emergency personnel brave the elements and spend time away from their loved ones to make sure we all have a safe and warm holiday.
In addition to all our exciting Christmas events, the Town of Mocksville hosted a number of toy donations and we certainly appreciate everyone’s generosity. We hope that this spirit of giving will continue through the New Year and into 2020. There are many opportunities to volunteer our time and resources for those less fortunate and I hope that all of us make an effort to reach out to those in need. We live in a beautiful town and Mocksville’s commitment to helping others is just one of the reasons that we should all be proud to live here.
