Special Called Meeting – October 11, 5 PM

The Town of Mocksville Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 5:00 PM at the Town Hall, Mocksville, NC to discuss Budget issues and upcoming Personnel vacancies.  The Board may go in to Executive Session to discuss the Personnel matters.

Oaks Festival in Mocksville ~ Rescheduled ~ Saturday, October 15th!

20121013_130741_0006_four-oaks-festival-2012-017With Hurricane Matthew and weather related challenges expected this weekend, The Oaks Festival in Mocksville has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 15th!

Enjoy a full day of fun for the entire family during the annual Oaks Festival, Saturday, October 15th, from 10-6:30 in historic downtown Mocksville. Dozens of vendors will feature unique craft and gift items as well as showcase local businesses. There will be food vendors, lots of free kids’ activities, and free live music at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater beginning at noon.

Start your Christmas shopping early, or buy a little something special for yourself as you enjoy the crafts, Christmas specialties, and other original items for sale. Find that “one-of-a-kind” piece of pottery, stained glass, or unique item made from reclaimed wood or jumpstart your fall decorating with pumpkins, flowers, and handcrafted wreaths and decorations.

Free Maze and Bounce house Inflatables, Balloon Art and More for the Kids
Kids will enjoy the maze, bounce house, and the balloon creations of clown artist, Mike Decker. Crafts, food, and the kids’ area will be set among the Oaks on Main St. and run down Depot St. leading to Junker’s Outdoor Theater.

Bring Your Lawn Chair and Enjoy Free Concerts – Live Music All Day!
The music starts at noon and continues until 6:30 p.m. at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Stage, 107 S. Salisbury St. BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR AND NO COOLERS, PLEASE.  Alcohol and water will be for sale at Junker’s Mill and food vendors will be at the top of the hill on Depot Street.

1:45 – Tess & the Black & Blue Band (Rock, Country & Funk)
3:15 – Taylor Vaden & the Memphis Thunder (Elvis Tribute)

September 30, 2016:

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Mocksville for almost 40 years.  Public service is a choice, and the citizens are fortunate to have dedicated town employees committed to providing the most efficient and effective services.  I would like to personally thank the Town of Mocksville employees, contracted associates, current and previous mayor(s) and commissioners along with other local and state officials for the many opportunities of working together. I look forward to the continued progress for the Town of Mocksville upon my retirement November 1, 2016.
