The Town of Mocksville Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Called Meeting in the board room at the Mocksville Town Hall on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.   The purpose of the meeting will include a Public Hearing for the FY 2016-2017 budget, Budget approval and Budget Amendments.

Free Concert! Two Great Bands – Saturday, June 25th

Not one, but two exciting bands will perform on Saturday, June 25th from 6-10 pm at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater in Downtown Mocksville.

Don’t be a hound dog, put on your blue suede shoes and come reminisce to the sounds of Taylor Vaden and the Memphis Thunder, an incredible Elvis tribute band, from 6-7:30 pm.  Taylor’s performance highlights the persona of Elvis as well as his musical career.

In 2012, Taylor found himself playing guitar and singing back-up vocals for American Idol finalist, Chelsea Sorrell, at local concerts and festivals. They opened for acts such as Charlie Daniels, Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Florida-Georgia Line, Colt Ford and more. 

Carolina Soul Band InternalBeach, Motown, R&B, and Classic Soul- Carolina Soul Band at 8 pm
Carolina Soul Band will “make you wanna (shout!), kick your heels up and (shout!), throw your hands up and (shout!)” as they take you on a journey down memory lane, performing Beach, Motown, R&B, and Classic Soul.

Their performances include the sweets sounds of legendary groups like the Drifters, the Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, the Temptations and many, many more. You’ll be clapping, dancing, and singing along with all your favorite hits of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.

These talented performers have performed and shared the stage with such notable acts as The Drifters, Ollie Woodson, Little Richard, Percy Sledge, Dennis Edwards Temptations, The O’Jays, The Flamingos, The Tams, Carl Gardner, The Coasters, The Platters, The Diamonds, The Manhattans, and The Crystals to name a few.

No coolers allowed. Food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase including: smoothies, salads, wraps, chicken, burgers, hotdogs, hot chips, soft drinks, and beer. Chestnut Trail will be offering wine by the glass, or take home a bottle. So grab your lawn chair and invite your friends and family to twist, shag, and boogie the night away!

The Town of Mocksville proposed 2016-2017 Fiscal Year Budget was submitted to the Mocksville Town Board on June 1, 2016.  The proposed budget is balanced at $7,905,199.

The proposed budget maintains a tax rate of .29 cents per $100 of property valuation.  A copy of the budget proposal is available in the Town Hall at 171 South Clement Street, Mocksville, North Carolina, during normal business hours at 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A public hearing will be held at 4:00 p.m., June 28, 2016, in the Board Room at the Mocksville Town Hall, 171 Clement Street, Mocksville, North Carolina, to receive public comments, either oral or written.  All citizens are welcome to comment on the budget proposal at this time.
